Contact GM Financial to initiate
Call GM Financial at 1-800-284-2271 (or the number on your monthly statement) to start the lease assumption process.

Buyer submits a credit application
Within 3-5 business days both parties receive a third-party authorization form. The new lessee submits a credit application.

GM Financial reviews the application
Subject to underwriting and credit guidelines. Vehicle and driver's license must be in the same state. Account must be current.

Complete paperwork within 30 days
All signatures and approvals within 30 days, or GM Financial must re-run credit. Up to 15 extra days for missing documents.

Pay $625 fee and complete the handoff
Once paperwork and fee are in, the assumption processes. Original lessee released; new lessee takes the truck.
