BMW Financial shifts both application + transfer fees to original lessee
BMW Financial Services updated their lease assumption policy so that the original lessee now pays both the $100 application fee and the $400 transfer fee up front. If the buyer's credit application is denied, BMW refunds the $400 transfer fee.

Tesla discontinues open-market lease transfer program
Effective November 27, 2024, Tesla Financial Services no longer permits open-market lease transfers. Exceptions may apply on a case-by-case basis (e.g., immediate family). Prior to this date, Tesla allowed transfers with 13+ payments remaining, a $150 application fee, and a $500 transfer fee.

Audi Financial Services lease transfer program suspended for most accounts
Audi Financial Services suspended its open-market lease transfer program for most accounts several years ago. Some leases may still qualify under limited exceptions. Standard published policy (before suspension) was a $350 transfer fee plus a $100 application fee.

Mercedes-Benz Financial Services suspends transfer program
Effective July 1, 2020, MBFS suspended its open-market lease transfer program. Exceptions remain for leases originating in Connecticut and cases involving death of the original lessee. For all other accounts, transfers are not permitted.
